"Beyond the Spiderwick Book 3 Wrym King" Summary

My teacher asked my class to write a summary about a book. 
Name of the Book:  "Beyond the Spiderwick Book 3 Wyrm King"

  Nick's punishment after being out all night with Jules and Laurie is the worst. His dad, who blames himself for their problems, hauls the entire family off to a counselor called  Teressa Gunnar to discuss. Nick's stepmom says that Nick's dad does not want them and then Charlene (Nick's stepmom) say that they need some time apart. Frustrated Nick's dad drives home only to have a sudden stop they then find a giant sinkhole in their path. Jules (Nick's brother) asks his dad what happened but neither did their dad know about the sinkhole. So they call local authorities to ask what happened. They then find out that many sinkholes have been spreading.

Nick then goes home and by using his dad's wifi card he searches the internet about the sinkholes. In  Nick's previous adventure they learn about the supernatural and that you need to have a power called the sight to see supernatural being's called "faeries" Taloa the nixie ask them to find her sisters Ooki and Ibi (I didn't read the first two books so I don't know what they did but I do know that they didn't fulfill her wish).Nick then finds out that there are sinkholes all over Florida. Nick not knowing what to do calls Jared, Simon, Mallory, Laurie, and Jule to Norseem Jack's house. But when they arrive there they find another sinkhole. They see that Norseem Jack's house is empty so they break into his house and finds drawing of a terrible creature. Nick and Laurie then try to search Norseem Jack's house for more clues while Jared, Simon, Mallory, and Jules investigate the sinkhole.

Jared, Simon, Mallory, and Jules then spot salamanders the prey of the fire-breathing giants in the sinkhole. Mallory then dives into the sinkhole but find out that the salamanders breathe out methane gas and is unable to breathe. Meanwhile, Nick and Laurie find Taloa, Ooki, and Ibi in a  dirty swimming pool and promised them to find them a better place. They then go outside and find Mallory unconscious on the ground. Then they find a baby salamander in stuck to her boot but all of its tail is tied to three other salamanders. They find out that they resemble the pictures found in Norseem Jack's house.

The nixies then agree that they will lure the giants out of the ocean so they can kill the salamanders. But while doing so, Ibi gets hurt and nick gets pulled underwater by mermaids and has a talk with them. The mermaids give a cap to breathe underwater and they tell him that they don't care about the land dwellers. They are still successful and they lure out some of the giants out of the water. Then they find out that in the middle of all the sinkholes there is the alpha hydra which is making all of the sinkholes. Nick then dive in with his merfolk cap which allows him to breath anything even methane gas. and he dives into one of the sinkholes. He finds out that there are tunnels in the sinkhole and starts exploring. But meanwhile, the others are watching the giants have a fight with the hydra. Nick with his machete in his hand he finds the hydra's hole. He then engages in battle with one of the hydra heads. He then cuts the substance that keeps the hydra together and then releases all the head. Dong so made it easier for the giants to kill the hydra.

At the end, Nick is at the hospital with everyone else. He then sits on a bench with Laurie being watch by a lone giant.

My New Year's Resolutions 

The new year is a time to change. This is why people make resolutions , They want to change themselves either they have a bad habit or they cannot stop do it  like smoking or drinking. They either want to be a better person like planting trees or helping people in need. Or they want to be better a what they do ,like working harder and helping more. But making new year resolutions is about setting good goals that you can accomplish.

PART ONE

But for me my new year resolutions are :

HOME 

 I will do 30 minutes- 1 hour
of ixl every two days. In that time period I will do one topic grade six or seven english and one topic grade seven math. I will finish grade six english in 2016. I also want to make Vidya speak at least twenty more words. I want to learn learn more violin and learn at least more than one proper song in band. I want to help my school in some way too.

COMMUNITY

 volunteer at the homeless shelter 10 hours per month

 PART TWO:

 But I am not finished yet I have plans on how to do some of these thing. Like set a time for ixl, have a pen and paper for math, I will teach Vidya five letter words that are necessary to speak, I will watch videos on how to play the carnatic violin , I will also watch videos on how to play the clarinet too. These are my new year resolutions and I will try and follow them as much as I can.

My New Year's Resolutions (7-12)

 Making New Year’s Resolutions is an American tradition. A resolution is “a formal expression of
opinion or intention made” (http://dictionary.factmonster.com/resolution). It could also be
called a plan or a goal for yourself. Let’s make resolutions to celebrate the start of the New
Year.

 PART ONE:

The New Year is a great time to re-evaluate your goals for school, home, yourself, and your
community. Create a few goals in each category to make up your list of resolutions.
SCHOOL (examples: enroll in an AP course, complete all homework before 9 pm): 

 HOME (examples: finish all my chores before Dad reminds me, cook dinner for my family once per week):

COMMUNITY (examples: volunteer at the homeless shelter 10 hours per month, set up acommunity food drive):

MYSELF (examples: eat one extra serving of vegetables each day, write in my journal three
times per week, use an app to learn to code):
FUTURE (examples: research one new college each month, apply to an after-school job):

 PART TWO:

Choose three of the resolutions (in different categories) you’ve listed above and create a plan
for implementing these goals. For example, if you’re interested in cooking for your family once
per week, you’ll need to search for a recipe that your family members might enjoy, list any
ingredients you’ll need in order to cook it, plan a trip to the grocery store to shop for the items
(either alone or with a parent/older sibling), choose a night to make the meal, figure out how
long it’ll take to cook it and get it on the table at dinner time, etc. Write yourself a schedule for
accomplishing this task for the next month. Use a weekly or monthly calendar; you can easily
find some templates online. Then, repeat with the other resolutions.
